I watched Project A-ko first on VHS back in the Eighties when I spotted it in the then tiny anime section of a local video rental shop (remember those?) I fell in love with A-ko and never looked back. Kind of like with Emma Peel back in the Sixties. Ruined me for mortal women, heh. Now, I think about starting a trans-oceanic pop group and writing torch songs for a girl named Eiko. I know, it's sad, but sorrow is the spice of life. Kind of like pepper for the heart.
