All Good Things

Hello everyone! I know I haven't updated or posted in the last few years on this site, but there didn't really seem to be much new to say. Also I am somehow both lazy and in pursuit of too many different projects at once. I've been content to know these Project A-ko materials are available to anyone who is interested and basically let the site take care of itself, aside from pruning the guestbook now and then.

I'm sending this message now, because I was recently informed by Webs that due to their being acquired by another company (Vistaprint) they were phasing out the free website service. I can't really complain about this, we've gotten ten years of free hosting with minimal ads after all. They offered to reconstruct existing Webs websites under the new banner for a $15 monthly fee, but the move would still require losing all of the personal interactions and comments made on Gravitonhigh.

I've decided not to renew with them, but it's still important to me that Project A-ko has a resource center on the internet. And also, that I need to be involved in it myself, because I love these movies and characters and feel I owe them for the happiness they've given me. So, I have procured a new website with another (much cheaper) host for this purpose that will have all of the same galleries and will hopefully be even better than this one. I encourage you to save anything from the forums or your private messages you want to keep, I've certainly enjoyed the coversations I've had with you over the years. The last day the site can be accessed is March 31st.

As for the new site, I'm working on it but I don't really want to give the address yet, because it is currently a hot mess. It's Wordpress and I'm having to teach myself all of these foreign concepts, whereas this one was pretty much all templates. Check the Project A-ko Fanclub group on Facebook for future details, or contact me at [email protected] with "A-ko" somewhere in your subject line. Thanks for your support!

Site online again

Hey guys, the site is back. It's been frozen by Webs for about two weeks and I had no idea, I hadn't checked in since the last week of August because I was on my yearly week-long hunting trip. After I got back I had cable installed and between catching up on shows and having relatives stay with me, I haven't done much more than check email lately. I was shocked when I checked in yesterday and saw that the site was locked, as Webs didn't notify me about it.

After I filed a protest, they sent a form that said I may have violated their TOS and I would need to delete any offending material to have my site unfrozen. It didn't mention anything specific. I figured the Cream Lemon book would be the only thing they might find disagreeable, so I removed it and contacted them again. A few hours later, they sent me this:

Dear Charles,

Thank you for contacting us regarding the status of your account.

The account in question was suspended because it was associated with a set of criteria used to identify high risk accounts. High risk includes malicious, fraudulent, or otherwise illegal content.

Through further review we have identified that your specific account does not show high risk factors and the suspension has been removed. We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience. Your website should be back online within the hour.

So... misunderstanding, I guess? I'm more befuddled than mad. Sorry to everybody out there who tried to check out GH during that time period. I might neglect this site, but I'd never delete it.

A-ko Storyboard collection #1

Uncle Sporkums has uploaded scans of his new Project A-ko storyboard collection! It's a great look inside the production of the movie, check it out in the gallery!

CPM's Project A-ko 2 miniseries added!

Uncle Sporkums has been kind enough to scan and upload his copies of the CPM adaptation of A-ko 2! This version adds a lot of jokes to the story and features art from prolific western manga artist Tim Eldred. Give it a look!

Hey everybody, our new best pal MaruTen is translating some of the A-ko stuff in the gallery! I want to replace the versions of the manga we have up with English ones, but after doing one I thought I ought to send out a heads-up to anyone who wants to save the original Japanese versions first. If you don't get them now or want them later just PM me.

This also means we have to lose all the comments, though. Thanks to everybody who participated, be sure to comment on the new versions too!

A-ko 2 character designs added

Another oldie from the archives, this is the approximate first half of the book which features character designs featured in Project A-ko 2. I didn't scan the mecha design pages back then which are very interesting, I'll post here when they're ready to be added to the gallery.

A-ko Press Newsletters

I've uploaded some rarely-seen vintage newsletters to the gallery. I didn't do the cleanup to my personal satisfaction on these, the colored paper made my usual method (levels in Photoshop) impractical. If anyone has some Photoshop experience I'd appreciate the advice.

Cream Lemon book added

I've been on the fence about uploading this for a while because I wanted the site to be all-ages, not to mention I didn't have the storage. Now I have an extra 100 MB I can fill, and rather than make the many miss out for the few, I labeled it "NSFW" and uploaded it anyway. This is a fascinating look at the alternate A-ko that might have been. Many of these designs made their way into the sequels, like Miss Ayumi's defense force gear from A-ko 3 and the creepy principal. I wonder why A-ko and B-ko didn't jump into these personas in Vs Blue?

Good grief, I just got a shock when I checked in on the site by following my bookmark- "Page not found". Webs must have changed something, we are now just "" without the "http://www" in front.
